Deborah
Wenzel is an artist and art educator. Her evocative works feature the people she
encounters: Apache young people in traditional
dress, Hispanic dancers, musicians, and mountain men. Her subj ect matter also includes still life and
wildlife. A versatile contemporary realist, she works in a
variety of media including acrylic, oil, pastel, and watercolor. Deborah started painting prolifically five years ago, at the same time she began teaching art at Ruidoso, New Mexico elementary schools. Prior to this she was a graphic designer and taught college classes. Deborah now happily divides her time between making art and sharing her love of art with children.
