Missing in Action

posted Apr 23, 2009 8:20 AM by Wendy Cason   [ updated Apr 23, 2009 8:36 AM ]

Sorry I haven't been on here in forever, if anyone has even ever seen this page...
probably not but still, I'll catch you up.

The semester is almost over, I'm taking exams right now. My twin sister Heather just
found out she got into UF as a drawing major, pretty impressive. GO GATORS!

I am moving in with my little sister Jody on June 1st. My new job is going good so
far, it's a new environment, new design work, which I need. I guess my title there is
Assistant Designer, cool.

Hmmm, what else.. my boyfriend turned 25 on the 18th, that was a good time and time
goes by so fast! I guess it would be our 4 year anniversary around this time.

I am taking classes this summer so I can graduate in December: Finance (if I pass accounting), Adv Research, Law of Mass Communication, and Mass Media... whew, should I be worried?

Work, Work, FUN

So, I am back from Tennessee and the pressure is back on x 10.

I just got a new position at Premier Creative: http://creative.premiercorporations.com/
My first project is to create a business card, but I have until Monday, which is technically my first day.

I have a test tomorrow in my Advertising Strategies class... I haven't even began studying.

I made a few slight changes to those fashion flyers and posters but nothing major, now I have to make a few phone calls to find some backdrops (just plain black) for the show, I will try the Hippodrome and the Phillips Center here in Gainesville, any other recommendations are appreciated.

I have also created my first idea for a logo for our new client in Adwerks, what do you think?

Fashion Show

posted Mar 9, 2009 8:42 PM by Wendy Cason

The first two are posters I did for a fashion show at my university. I took the photos of the models and I used photoshop for the effects and layout. This was fun but I am a little rusty, I might make some changes, but so far this is what I have, I am happy with it. :D

The black and white are flyers I did for the same event :D

Happy Birthday Mommy

My mom loved the shirts my dad had made (posted in my last announcement). We also got her roses and her favorite perfume, Pure Poison.
The band, Core was awesome and we stayed out all night. After we left the party we went and ate breakfast at the Waffle House and since the time changed it was about 7am when we got home!

This is a picture of my twin sister Heather, mommy, and myself. :D

Count Down

Spring break is approaching so fast now... Even though school and work are still taking up to much of my time, I have actually been feeling inspired.
I want to work on my portfolio, I want to hang out, I want to do good in school, I want to get side jobs.... it is adding up to very little sleep at night but it is better than being lazy.
So, before I went to bed I did a little fun photo-manip for my cousin.
I think I might have mentioned that my mom's b-day is Saturday and my dad wanted some
shirts screen printed, so I help create his vision. :D Lucky I use to work in screen printing, so I knew what to design for the printers. But it is a surprise so don't tell her :D

Alexandria Lynn Hiltibidal

Wow, what a mouth full but we will call her Lexy, my new niece.
She is 8 pounds 8 ounces born Feb. 26 2009. Congratulations Lindsey,
she is beautiful!

My spring break starts March 7th, which is also my mommy's birthday and
I am still not sure what to get her... There will be a band playing at the bar,
my parent's own a bar by the way.  I wanted to fly my little sis down for the break and
then she could ride back up with us to see Lexy but
we waited until the last minute and I think the tickets are too much now,
especially for a one-way.

I plan to go see my friend in Ft. Lauderdale, who is visiting for her birthday from
Hawaii on Tuesday. Then I will drive up to Tennessee with the family to see the baby
and her daddy who just got back from Afganistan yesterday!

So, it has been really busy as you can see...

Just a quick update...

Things are going great so far in Chicago. My roomies are sweet, we went to the Mosaic Career Fair today and met some recruiters and did some networking. We are going to explore the bar scene tonight in the windy snow and them we are going agency hopping tomorrow.

Meanwhile I have been doing some freelance such as some volunteer work for Early Learning Coalition of Alachua County, which is not finished yet and finishing my friends wedding invitation.

Lately....

So, back into the busy busy groove of things.
I have two exams today, I am taking financial accounting, advertising graphics and design,
advertising strategies, and principles of management.
I am going to Chicago on the 18th with Ad Society for the Mosaic Career fair and to visit a few agencies such as Digitas.
I have also been doing a few things for fun, like some wedding invitations for a friend, and this Victoria's Secret t-shirt contest.  Well, I let you know how the trip goes. :D

Start to a Busy New Year

posted Jan 28, 2009 8:25 PM by Wendy Cason   [ updated Jan 28, 2009 8:52 PM ]

So, I have been staying pretty busy lately. As I said in my last post I went to NY for New Years, I went to Washington DC last weekend anddd I will be going to Chicago on the 18th of February with the Ad Society at my university, UF.
I went to Washington with my cousin, it was beautiful, cold but beautiful. I couldn't believe the detail of the Lincoln memorial and the White House. The night life was pretty good too. I visited a bar called Saint Ex, and a club called Tom Tom.
We are going to Chicago to visit some agencies: BBDO, Digitas, and Leo Burnett.
We are also attending the Mosaic Career Fair.
I also got some good news the other day. I found out that I only need 8 classes not 10 before I graduate, so 4 over summer and 4 for fall.

Get Ready.

Well, Christmas is over. My sisters and I decided to buy my parents lots of presents this year like they always do for us. I think they were pretty surprised, and we got our mom Coco Channel parfume :D I don't really know about that perfume but she likes it.  We are leaving for NY in about 4 hours, we depart at 6:50 am! Well, we will get there early. I wasn't planning on posting until after New Years but I have been spending time with my family and I have a cute picture of some of my siblings and my niece. I also went to Savannah, Georgia with my mom. Oh yea, I passed all of my exams, yay! (This is a random post, I am sleep deprived).
