The Archive Group is a small group of people who are working to catalogue papers, photographs & maps relating to the history of the village, many of which were gathered together by Peter Garnett*. An example is the old tithe map shown opposite.

The aim is that, once all items are catalogued into appropriate sections, anyone interested can come &
look through the available material. Once this is completed, it will be considered whether to continue &
develop this further.

It is planned to do at least one exhibition of material in the next year.

* Peter Garnett was a previous resident of Wellington Heath and a local historian. His book “Portrait of Wellington Heath” covers the development of the parish from before the Norman Conquest to the early years of the second millennium.
