Welcome and please come visit!
~ Worship every Sunday @ St. John's at 9:15 am ~ ~ Sunday School during church ~ Welcome to St. John's Episcopal Church. If you're looking for a church home where you can learn what it means to be a Christian, make new friends, and help the community, "Come and see!" You'll feel like part of the family from the minute you walk in the door. We are a dynamic congregation devoted to fellowship, spiritual development, and worship. Join us, and together we'll make a real difference in the world. Our worship is at 9:15 am on Sundays. Sunday School is held during church during the school year - September through early June. Please come as you are - there's no dress code. We celebrate Communion every week, which we call "The Holy Eucharist." Jesus invites us all to repent of our sins, to forgive one another from the heart, and to share his life by receiving the bread and wine of Communion. Everyone is welcome to come forward, take Communion, or receive a blessing. Coffee hour follows immediately after church, offering a chance to catch up with old friends and make new ones. For those who want a mid-week opportunity for spiritual renewal, an Evening Prayer service is offered each Wednesday at 7 pm. This simple service takes only about 20 minutes, but offers a wonderful chance to spend quiet time in a spiritual space with friends. We try to follow Jesus in loving our neighbors as ourselves. Some ways we do this include food and clothing drives for local charities, free dinners on school event nights, international relief projects, a free community Halloween party, and baking bread for the hungry, to name just a few. Adult Christian education opportunities are offered several times a year. Fellowship opportunities include monthly euchre nights at Lyster Hall, seasonal Dinner and a Movie nights, an active women's group (the ECW), and lots of potluck dinners! St. John's church is also a part of Lenawee County's history! St. John's is one of the oldest wood frame churches west of the Alleghany River. Founded in 1835 by William Lyster, it is the oldest Episcopal church building in Michigan. We are located in Clinton, Michigan, at 122 E. Church Street. Ample parking can be found behind the church on Franklin Street in the Middle School parking lot. This lot provides convenient, accessible entry through the rear doors of the church hall. We offer wheelchair accessible entry, seating, and restrooms. Please see Maps for directions.
