Look for new words in magazines, newspapers and books. Bring those words to class. Interrupt your teacher (politely) and ask, “What does this mean?” If you looked up the word in a dictionary, explain it in class. 7. Volunteer to explain a new piece of grammar. “Excuse me, teacher, I just learned about how to use a comma. Can I show the class?” When you explain something, your brain learns more. 8.
