Wee Hyong obtained his PhD, MSc, BSc (Hons) from the School of Computing (SoC), National University of Singapore (NUS).

He was an ex-Instructor in the Computer Science Department, NUS. He graduated with a  PhD (Computer Science).

His research interests includes adaptive query processing and optimization issues in generic progressive join algorithms. He is also interested in query processing issues in P2P systems and high-dimensional data streams.

He was also awarded the 
 Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) Award for SQL Server for 3 award cycle.

Visiting Graduate Student, Cornell Universityfocused on extending Predator to support a threaded symmetric hash join, and introduced interesting order into Predator's query optimizers. In addition, focused on new operators for Cougar V2.
