JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: - Night RGN
RESPONSIBLE TO: - Matron/Deputy Matron
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

To provide wakeful night cover in the Home.

To actively participate in meeting the personal, physical and social needs of Service Users.

To deal with any emergency situation that may occur during the night hours.

To be responsible for the management of the Home during the night shift in the absence of the Matron/Deputy Matron.
MAIN DUTIES:

To ensure that all residents are observed regularly whilst preserving their privacy.

To ensure Care Plans are implemented during periods of the night duty.

To periodically check the premises with special references to Fire Prevention and Home Security.

To assist Service Users with their personal needs and to help to provide health supervision and attention throughout the night by direct nursing care when needed.

To undertake nursing duties in a safe, therapeutic and competent manner, within your scope of professional practice.

To administer medication as prescribed by the Doctor, in accordance with guidance set down by the Nursing and Midwifery Council; ensuring stock levels are adequate and discontinued drugs are returned to the pharmacy.

To actively participate in staff/group meetings, staff training and development activities.

To undertake any domestic duties as may be deemed necessary.

To complete the Service User and staff fire register.

To act in a supportive role to all care staff; lead supervision meetings with allocated staff and ensure that any new staff are properly inducted into their role.

To support the Matron/Deputy Matron in their duties under the Health & Safety legislation and Fire Regulations.

To work within COSHH guidelines.

To attend Mandatory Training courses relevant to the position as directed by the Matron/Deputy Matron.

To be aware of and work in accordance with the Home’s policies and procedures.
