Parks and Recreation 5 Year Master Plan Survey

posted Jan 28, 2011 6:29 AM by Tammy Havard

The Westfield Parks and Recreation Department has started the process for writing a new 5 Year Parks Master Plan. It is very important for us to hear what the community thinks. We will be holding stakeholders meetings next week and will host a public input meeting on Thursday, February 17th @ 7PM in the Assembly Room at City Hall.

In the meantime we would like to have as many people as possible fill out the online survey. It will only take 5 minutes and can make all the difference in collecting data from the Westfield community. Please go to Westfield’s new website www.westfield.in.gov.  In the middle of the front page under City News & Announcement you can click on a link to the survey (Parks Master Plan Survey).  Please share this message with everyone so we can get a good response.

Thanks!

Westfield Encouraging Residents to take a quiz for a $10,000 Grant

posted May 25, 2010 8:24 AM by Tammy Havard

Liberty Mutual is hosting a contest called Bring Back the 4th. Ten towns and cities will be rewarded with a $10,000 Bring Back the 4th grant. The winners are based on community participation.

Now through June 14 residents can fill out a brief quiz. Each completed quiz counts as one credit regardless of the score. Only one quiz is allowed per person. The communities with the most quiz participation are eligible for the grants.

The grants are specifically allocated towards Fourth of July events. If awarded, the City of Westfield could use the grant for community fireworks celebrations, celebrations in City parks, festive parades downtown, and ceremonies honoring veterans.

For more information or to take the quiz and vote, go to www.bringbackthe4th.com and vote for Westfield.  If you live in Westfield, but have an alternative zip code; please enter 46074 for a zip code so Westfield can receive credit.
