Today I am reaching out to you to ask for your help and provide an opportunity for everyone to participate in and effort against cancer. In short we are all too aware of how cancer has affected us all directly or indirectly and taken the lives of millions.  

In 2009 the City of Westfield joined the fight against cancer by creating the Shamrockin’ For A Cure team for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life of Westfield.  We were very successful. Starting the team on April 1 for the May 16^th-17^th event with only 6 weeks our team raised over $8,000 and was awarded the Best New Team Award.

The team from the City of Westfield is once again participating in the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life of Westfield on May 21st-22nd, 2010. 

This year, the City of Westfield’s Shamrockin’ For A Cure team is inviting local businesses, organizations and individuals to join us on the "Community" leg of the walk by signing up for 1 hour time slots and helping raise funds for the community team’s efforts against cancer. Please consider joining us in a united community effort to fight back against cancer by joining our team either individually or as a group or making a contribution to our efforts.

· There is one opportunity on this page that I want to point out and that is to at least sign up as a “Participant Pay Later”.

· Having a strong showing of the number of participants along with names or group names is powerful in its own way as an example of the community efforts against cancer.

You can sign up to walk/relay for any time slot. The more the merrier at all walking times. Just let me know or our community team captain Stacy Hartman know at werelay@gmail.com what you would like to do.

One other option to join the team now and set a time to walk and or raise monies latter is to email me your info and I’ll put it in and send you your info.
