Vote for Ameriana's Community Hero Nominees

Jim Ake was nominated for his volunteer service with the Westfield Rotary, Westfield-Washington Township Public Safety Building Corporation and several other Westfield organizations.

Sherry Goins was nominated for her involvement with the Westfield Rotary Club, Relay for Life, Open Doors, Meals on Wheels, Crossroads Church Community and the City of Westfield.

Eric Gray was nominated by his 9-year old son for his nine years of service to the United States Army. He spent three years away from his son to serve in Iraq and Africa.

Dr. Mark Keen was nominated for his efforts in promoting education excellence in the Westfield community.
 
Rob Kmetz was nominated for his 20 years of service in the Navy and Army National Guard.

Nancy Lee was nominated for her commitment to the English as a Second Language Program at the Westfield Library.

Janet Lome was nominated for her determination and positive attitude in her six-time cancer battle and her leadership of Relay for Life for the Westfield Cancer Society.

Stephen “Eric” Rodenbarger was nominated for his support of community events and community service people, for his 17-year service to the United States military.

Larry Snapp was nominated for his involvement with the Westfield Boy Scouts and his extensive involvement – including past president – of the Westfield Chamber of Commerce.

Julie Sole was nominated for her service to the Westfield community through her work as the executive director of the Westfield Chamber of Commerce.

Leane Welsh
was nominated for her contributions to a poverty-stricken Children’s Home in China, from which she adopted her daughter. Each year, Welsh collects items from coworkers, friends and family to support the Children’s Home.

Kurt Wanninger was nominated for his involvement in the Westfield Rotary Club, where he was an active leader on service projects both locally and internationally as well as a past president.

Limit one ballot cast per person per day. Vote by casting a paper ballot or by submitting a winter item at Ameriana to contribute to Bundle Up Westfield.  If you bring a winter item you will be allowed 5 extra votes toward your candidate.  Voting available 8/28/10 until 9/10/10. Winner will receive $250 to go to the charity of their choice.  Winner will be announced on 9/11/10. Only one prize awarded.
