Update: Winds Continue Throughout the Day - February 10, 2010

Hamilton County Highway Department states that roads in the northern half of Hamilton County (north of SR-32) are still experiencing blowing and drifting snow. The Indianapolis National Weather Service office states the winds will continue to come out of the west/northwest at 20-22 MPH with gusts as high as 30 MPH for the rest of the day and will start to diminish around nightfall.

A Travel Watch remains in effect for northern Hamilton County roads (north of SR-32).

A Travel Advisory remains in effect for southern Hamilton County roads (south of SR-32).

The National Weather Service has extended the Winter Storm Warning until 7 PM this evening due to the wind. Significant travel hazards still exist in central Indiana due to widespread blowing and drifting snow on roads especially in rural areas. Little or no new snow is expected.
