Snow Removal Update - December 16, 2010

posted Dec 16, 2010 1:11 PM by Tammy Havard   [ updated Dec 16, 2010 2:40 PM ]

To all,

I wanted to take this opportunity to update you on the City’s Snow Removal efforts for December 16, 2010.  The Transportation Division, along with other Public Works supporting divisions started plowing Primary, Secondary and Collector streets (main roads) this morning at 12:00 am. At that time, the large salt trucks stayed on the main roads plowing and applying salt.  From 12:00 am until this current time, 10:50 am, the First Snow Plowing Removal Team continues to address the Primary, Secondary, and Collector Streets.  Also, at the time of this email the Primary, Secondary and Collector Streets in the highly traveled areas of the City are in good travel condition.

At 10:00 am, the Second Snow Plowing Removal Team began addressing Subdivision Streets.  Depending on anymore accumulating snow, which we do not anticipate, it should take the Second Snow Plowing Removal Team approximately 6-8 hours to address all of the subdivision streets.  If you would like to view the Snow Plowing progress visit the Snow Plowing Map located on the City Website at:  http://www.westfield.in.gov/public_works/

Later this evening, if necessary, the Third Snow Plowing Removal Team will assemble and continue to address the City Streets and any areas of concern in the community.

As of 5:40pm: all streets, including subdivision streets are complete.

Public Works Director
