On 2/15/2011 at approximately 12:19 P.M., Westfield Police Officers were dispatched to 2100 Block of W. 166th Street, on the report that the residence had been burglarized. Additionally, officers were advised that an unknown person(s) forced entry through the front door and that several items were taken from the residence.
Over the past couple of weeks this is the only burglary that has been reported in the City of Westfield; however, several additional homes in Hamilton County have been reported to other agencies as being burglarized. The suspect’s vehicle in the non Westfield Burglaries were reported as being a silver vehicle. The Westfield Police Department is working with other area law enforcement agencies to determine whether or not the crimes are related.
With the recent increase of homes being burglarized in Hamilton County the Westfield Police Department is asking residents to take precautionary measures. These measures include:
• Shutting and Locking doors and windows. • Setting alarms . • Closing garage doors. • Neighbors looking out for each other by watching other’s property. • Reporting suspicious people, vehicles or activities.
