Ice - Please be careful!

posted Jan 21, 2010 5:03 AM by Tammy Havard
The City of Westfield Public Works Transportation Division salt trucks have been out since 10pm last night on Primary, Secondary and Collectors and about 90% of the excel, decel and subdivision entrances have been salted.  Once we have a better feel on how traffic will be maneuvering on these roads, we will assess the subdivisions which are in very poor conditions at that time.  The City advises motorists to take their time and drive below the speed limit in the subdivisions as road conditions indicate.

Temperatures are supposed to rise today into the upper 30s so most of the ice in the subdivisions should melt or break up with traffic; however, we will keep an eye on them and salt as necessary once the Primary, Secondary, and Collectors are completed and as temperatures change.
