I am writing to you today to inform you about a volunteer opportunity. Westfield Rocks the 4th (WR4) Event had it first year this last July. This special event is made possible through a partnership with the Downtown Westfield Neighborhood Association and the City. The Park Department supports this event and I am the Event Chairperson. In 2011 we are hosting the event on Sunday, July 3rd from 4PM to after the Fireworks. The Location is downtown at Asa Bales Park. The Fireworks are set off across the street at the High School. We estimated we had 10,000 people in attendance during 2010 WR4. We plan to build on our first years success.

Each special section needs a chairperson and a small 1 to 2 person committee. We have prepared detailed notebooks for each section outlining all that needs to be coordinated. Most of our chair people are returning but we have a need for a few more to step up. We will have monthly organization meetings, usually at lunch on Wednesday (but that can be determined).  Anyways, if you have an interest in getting involved in a wonderful NEW Westfield tradition or know someone who may want to get involved please respond ASAP. We are already moving along with planning 2011.
