The City of Westfield and Ray’s Trash are sponsoring the second annual Heavy Trash and Bulk Item Drop-Off Day on Saturday, June 25 from 8am to 1pm at the Westfield Intermediate School (326 W Main St). This event allows people to dispose of objects and materials not included in the weekly trash/recycling service. Additionally, residents can use Ray’s document shredding truck for free. Donations are accepted and will benefit the Freedom Trail Sensory Garden.
There is no charge to participate, unless a person needs to dispose of a television or tire. Participants need to bring a utility bill to prove residency.
Accepted items include: • Air conditioners • Bicycles • Brush (bundles not exceeding 4ft) • Cardboard • Carpet • Computers • Dirt • Dryers • Floor covering • Freezers • Furniture • Gently used clothing • Grills • Mattresses • Microwaves • Large Toys • Lawnmowers • Lawn equipment • Paint • Refrigerators • Rock • Stoves • Swing Sets • TV • Leaded screens less than 27 in $5 • Leaded screens larger than 27 in $10 • Tires • Car $3 • Truck $10 • Tractor $25 • Trash • Washers • Water heaters
Unacceptable items include: batteries, chemicals, light bulbs, bio-hazardous material, propane tanks, prescription medicines, and construction or demolition debris.
