Portfolios have always supported authentic, experiential and evidence-based learning, even before they became "e."  This association is forming this year to advocate for learning and assessment as supported by ePortfolio technology.

The technology may change, but the goal of re-shaping learning for this century remains

AAEEBL is a membership-supported association and includes both educators and vendors.  The Corporate Council within AAEEBL is a necessary partnership to further the goals of AAEEBL.

AAEEBL will host an annual conference starting in the fall of 2010 in partnership with The Association of American Colleges and Universities (www.aacu.org ).

In its first year, AAEEBL will define requirements for the federated stack of ePortfolio layers and affiliated sites to support the multiple emerging requirements for ePortfolios within education.  This definition will include the full range of functionalities from assessment management to student authoring tools and student-owned artifacts or assets stored within Web 2.0 sites.

ePortfolios are emerging as the most important academic technology on campus, offering innovation and support for learning styles and practices appropriate to this century.

AAEEBL's goal is to help lead educators and their institutions toward the new learning landscape ePortfolios provide in partnership with the companies providing our enabling technologies.
