My flight for Oklahoma City leaves early tomorrow morning, and if the schedule holds, I should be there before noon CDT. I can't wait to be back with my "other family" and on the road, searching for some of the best and most photogenic storms that Mother Nature can provide!

Just one week from now I'll be in Norman, OK, preparing to begin four weeks of tornado chasing the next day. Lots of activity over the last few days (Charles saw five tornadoes on Thursday, I believe he said!), so I hope Mother Nature saves up some of her energy for us!

Wow, time is really starting to sneak up on the next tornado chase season! By my count, it's down to 108 days until it starts! Wooooohooooo!!! I can hardly wait!
Things seem to be pretty much set as far as this web site is concerned, although I'm sure some problems will arise when I'm on the road in the middle of nowhere, instead of at home with the DSL and WiFi. Hopefully I'll be able to maintain the site with pictures and descriptions along the way, even when I have to resort to dial-up access to the Internet. We shall see...
I am also getting REALLY close to purchasing a dSLR... I'm deeply in lust with the Nikon D300, specifically paired with their 18-200mm lens. The good side with that lens is that it would afford me a nice zoom range without having to constantly change lenses and potentially introduce dust and dirt into the camera. The down side, though, is that it's got a smaller maximum aperture than I would prefer (f3.5). I keep waffling between buying the camera and waiting to see if the prices will drop, given the present situation with the economy, but I can feel my self-control weakening more and more as the days pass. In the meantime, the trusty Kodak point-and-shoot (Z812) keeps doing the job very nicely, as one can tell from my latest sunset shots. Regardless of what happens, I'll try to get the best shots on the chase that I can! |

The Tornado-Related page has now been added, and I will be working on adding links and graphics to that in the coming days.

I am continuing to add new stuff to both the Anti-Productivity Page and the Hurricane-Related page. It's actually been pretty amazing that I have been especially productive on the page that's built on the premise of being totally non-productive. Go figure...
I also reduced the size of the banner at the top of the home page "just a thad"... Seems that the larger version wouldn't fit on the screen if a user was running at a 1,024-pixel-wide resolution.
Pretty soon, I'll start working on the Tornado-Related page as well. I figured I'd better deal with hurricanes first, given the fact that we were having so much tropical activity... It's finally starting to wind down now, though, so I can soon turn my attention to tornadoes.

Yep... The "Fun and Games" page is now up! I've only got two games on there at the moment, but there will be more! Stay tuned!

Today I have added "My Guestbook" and "The Weatheraholic Forum," both of which are shown in the Links section on the Main Page sidebar. I am working on adding a live chat tool as well, so hopefully that will be up and running in the coming days.
The Hurricane-Related Page is coming along, with a few additional links that I hope will be helpful. I plan to add a Tornado-Related page in the near future as well.
That's about it for now... Enjoy, and keep those suggestions coming! Thanks to all who have made comments so far.
