It’s time to prepare for the 2010 WDA auction! You have only 4 weeks to purchase or create items to bring to Iguazú Falls. Both the silent and live auctions will be held on Tuesday June 1st. Along with all the items you will bring to donate to the auction, you will need American dollars to purchase the auction items you wish to take home with you. So bring your American check books or US dollar bills. If you do not have either of these, there are money exchange offices in Puerto Iguazu (click here for more info). Therefore, you can bring money from any country on the planet and have it exchanged to US dollars! If you are unfamiliar with the WDA auction, please see below for a description on this event. The auction is completely optional, but you won’t want to miss it! If you have any questions or would like to help with this year’s WDA auction, please contact Sharon Deem (deem@stlzoo.org). The WDA auction, which will be held on June 1st, is a completely optional but really, really fun way for those attending the conference to help support the organization. Both the silent and live auctions are a great way for conference attendees to help the WDA raise money for the organization. People who attend the conference can bring any items that they feel other conference attendees might want to buy and own. Items donated often have a wildlife theme and / or are items from home countries. Items can be big or small such as t-shirts, souvenirs, books, paintings, framed photos, and home-made hand crafts. Those who want to participate will donate an item(s) when registering for the conference. In addition to donations, you will be able to purchase items through the silent and live auctions. We hope that you will want to participate and join in the fun to help raise money for the WDA! And, the best part is that all the funds raised in the auction go to student activities!
