prior to this evening, i was planning on writing a fairly long-winded biography of where i come from, what i used to do, etc. etc.  and as i was watching the opening of a randomly dvr'ed 'house' episode with jennifer, an idiot-savante who could only play the piano well came on, and jennifer said, "i bet you couldn't play that."  and it got me thinking that although in my heyday i very well damn could play that piece, win multiple concerto competitions, place first in the state on numerous occasions in both piano and cello, etc...that's really all in the past.

and like i mentioned to my sweet ol' pup yukon, 'we don't live in the past, now do we, yukon?'

so this biography is very simple:
i was born in taiwan.  i moved to the town of oak ridge, tn at age four.  i graduated from ORHS in 2001, graduated from northwestern university in 2005.  i work for my alma mater performing research pertinent to heart disease and air pollution, and i'm getting my masters too hopefully by next year.  i also work part time for johnny sprockets cycling shop in chicago, which is of course always a blast.

and now for the current situation in life:
i have a dog (yukon), a ferret (staley), two hedgehogs (peanut and butter), and a hamster (hammie).
their pictures can be found here.

i have two bikes fully built up.  kallan is my 2006 fetish cycles position track bike.  kalypso is my 2006 gary fisher piranha hardtail mountain bike.  i also have a 2006 specialized tarmac pro that i am going to build up before the end of the 2007 calendar year.   more information on the bikes can be found at my ridefetish page.

i don't play tennis anymore.  i don't play the piano in any great extent, nor the cello.  i don't find myself particularly virtuoso-esque at anything, except for maybe taking great naps.

the greatest influence in my life is my old pastor from knoxville named Dan Riley.  google calvary baptist church, knoxville, and you should get the link to the church webpage.  even at an early age, he always taught the two sides of Christ and Christianity very clearly: a)hell is just as important as heaven and b) Jesus was one awesome man when he was on earth.  i don't pretend to know doctrine or theology or who met where and when to discuss which book and what passage.  the things i know about Christianity and faith are very, very simple.  "i was blind, but now i see."  i also know that it is much easier to claim to be a Christian than it is to really live it out.  and i'm not talking about the smells and bells of Catholicism.  on that note, i went to a confirmation service at a catholic service/mass and it was perhaps the most painful thing i've ever had to sit through.

although i can talk cordially with members of my family, i feel that i am only close to one of my siblings.  and contrary to what my little blurbs say, i do not possess massive amounts of sacajaweas, nor do the ladies really want to know about my life.

i have a very nice girlfriend named jennifer, and i have also been blessed to know many other female individuals such as lilia and julia.  out of all the guys i talked to in high school, i only keep in touch with sam.  from undergrad?  MJ and cibor are the closest ones.

i listen to a lot of minnesota public classical radio, and recently i've started to watch bbc america shows.  gordon ramsay is the one celebrity i'd like to meet.  i like movies as long as they have mindless action or some type of slapstick comedy.  i can occasionally be cajoled into watching a romantic comedy or a movie such as 'the departed'.

that covers my life for now.  ha.
