  • First Place in the Professional Category in the 1969-70 American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Rocky Mountain Section annual technical papers awards for paper entitled “Stability of Thin Liquid Films”.
  • Dow Outstanding Young Faculty Award in the Rocky Mountain Section of the American Society for Engineering Education, 1971.
  • Selected as Faculty Mentor by Orn Adalsteinsson, 1971 recipient of the University of Colorado President's Medal (The President's Medal was awarded annually to two outstanding undergraduates in each class at the University of Colorado; each recipient was asked to designate the faculty member who was the most inspirational to him.).
