About Us:

The WBC Community Development Corporation (WBC CDC), located in the Forest Park area of northwest Baltimore, began as the fiscal development committee of Wayland Baptist Church in early 2003.  Responding to deteriorating homes, high unemployment, vacant/abandoned properties and an absence of quality, affordable housing, the WBC CDC formed and achieved status as a (501(c)(3 )nonprofit corporation in 2005 and began developing strategies to meet the needs of the community.

The WBC CDC is governed by a diverse and professional 18-member board that provides guidance in planning and achieving organizational goals.  We enjoy strong community support from such organizations as Project Garrison, Friends of Forest Park Neighborhood Association, Central Forest Park Neighborhood Association, Garwyn Oaks Neighborhood Association and the WWFF-BOC Neighborhood Association.

We are committed to improving the quality of lives for families in the Forest Park area of northwest Baltimore.  By providing affordable housing and stimulating job creation, we are confident that we will see the emergence of a vibrant and thriving community.

Mission:

The mission of the WBC Community Development Corporation is to serve the communities of northwest Baltimore City through the provision of affordable housing, economic strategies and social programs.

We envision neighborhoods that are safe and self-sustaining; where the quality of life for all citizens is assured.
