Google Sites is an example of just one part of what is known as Web 2.0, also referred to as the Read/Write Web. 

The Read/Write Web makes it very easy for people to use the web to publish information, rather than just using the web to consume information. 

The Examples link provides some ideas from others who are using these technologies with their students to support the school curriculum.

Other popular "mainstream" implementations of the Read/Write Web include Blogs (eg: WordPress, Blogger, etc ), YouTube, Delicious, Wikis (eg Wikipedia), and Flickr.

While this technology is increasingly being used in the community, it is frequently banned/blocked in our schools.

Our challenge is - "can we use this technology to make our school curriculum more relevant?"
