PB and J Outreach
PBJ (Peanut Butter and Jelly) Outreach Inc. is an ecumenical group of people volunteering their time and services to provide food, clothing, and basic social services to homeless people as well as those who are below the poverty level, living in the depressed and impoverished areas of the Metropolian Detroit area, including the Cass Corridor section of inner city of Detroit. The services are provided to all, regarless of race, religion (or lack thereof), gender or national origin.

Gleaners Community Food Bank
As the third-oldest food bank in the United States, Gleaners Community Food Bank's mission has been to turn surplus food, which otherwise would go to waste, into millions of delicious meals for hungry people in southeastern Michigan.

Greening of Detroit
The Greening of Detroit exists to improve the quality of life in the Detroit by guiding and sinpiring the reforestation of Detroit's neighborhoods, boulevards and parks through tree planting projects and educational programs.

Earth Works Garden
The EarthWorks Garden started in 1999 as a partnership between the Capuchin Soup Kitchen and Gleaners Community Food Bank. The garden started as a small plot of land in the inner city of Detroit and has grown to 3/4 of an acre on the three plots near the Midrum Street Soup Kitchen. Complete with a greenhouse, EarthWork's primary goal is to education of Detroit area school children in areas of science, nutrition and biodiversity of organic agriculture. The project also yields fresh produce to benefit such programs as WIC and the Soup Kitchen's daily meals.

Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit housing ministry. HFHI seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partneship with families in need. Habitat has built more than 225,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1 million people in more than 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter.

Capuchin Soup Kitchen
The Capuchin Soup Kitchen serves the poor who suffer from the lack of basic human needs: material needs, such as food, clothing, and household necessities; psychological needs, such as motivation, self-esteem, and rehabilitation; and social needs, such as support systems and meaningful relationships.

C.O.T.S. (Coalition on Temporary Shelter)
COTS exists to alleviate homelessness by providing an array of services that enable people to achieve self-sufficiency and obtain quality affortable housing. COTS also exists to advocate for long-term solutions to the problems of homelessness.
