Clicking on the links or the small images in the left column below will open the set on Flickr in a new web page or tab.
Clicking the "play" arrow in the image in the right column below will activate a Flickr slide show "gadget" that will display the photos in the set.
Once activated, you can use the player's controls to navigate within the slide show.
How to download images from the WATRC sets on Flickr
The 2010 / 2011 season photo sets will be taken by digital camera mostly at a resolution of 5184 x 3456 pixels (18 megapixels - files compressed to 4 - 14 megabytes). The photos are hosted on the Flickr photo sharing website. There are links below to past seasons, or you can browse through the individual sets, or the various collections.
To download any image, click on the image in the set (e.g. below left, step 1).
In the page that opens (e.g. below middle), click on the "Actions" button (step 2). From the menu that opens select "View all sizes" (step 3a).
In the next page that opens (below right) will be links to the available image sizes. In this page, click on the size you want (step 4) - for best prints we recommend "Original". The link will re-open the page, but with the chosen sized image displayed. Above the image will be a link titled "Download the <your choice> size of this photo". Right click this link (step 5) and select "Save target as..." (step 6).
That will then start a download of the image file. For prints or cropping we strongly recommend you download the "Original" size as this will give you the best quality (although it's also the biggest file so will take more time to download)
Alternatively, after step 2, select the "Order prints and more" option (step 3b) and use the Snapfish NZ service to get your prints.
If you're concerned about the size of the files or the time they will take to download, and you only wish to view the photos on a screen, then choose a lower resolution - Large will fill most of your screen.
Terms and Conditions of use
Club members, competitors, their friends and families are welcome to download images for personal non-commercial use - there is no charge for this. If you want prints, you must arrange this yourself. We suggest you take a copy of the image file you've downloaded to any digital photo processor or kiosk, or print it yourself at home.
For non-commercial publication (e.g. on a personal website or in a club newsletter) it is a courtesy to either acknowledge the photographer or provide a link to the source photo on Flickr. The best way to do this is to select on the "All sizes" page the photo you think will fit your web page best, and copy the HTML code supplied under the image into your page.
Using the photo to help sell your horse (e.g. on Trademe) is accepted as a non-commercial use provided you're not a dealer, but a reference or link back to this page on the club website will be appreciated.
