WSS General Meeting

May 25, 6pm in PHYS 235
We will be Introducing new members to the WSS, as well as its Spring 2011 Executive.
Any questions you have about the organizations will be readily answered by the Execs.

Each team leader will then have introductions for their sub-team:
            - Rocket Team
            - Rover Team
            - WATC (Astronaut Training Corps)
            - Micro-Satellite Team
            - Stargazers


Sign-up sheets will be available for each of the sub-teams at the end of the meeting.

Featuring: Perry Edmundson from COMDEV will be presenting about Micro-satellites, learn about this exciting field of space engineering!

New Members and interested non-members are welcome to attend.

Refreshments will be available.

Call for Execitive - Winter 2010

As one term ends and the next term begins, we'd like to send out our official Call For Executive Members.  Please state your interest by email by Jan 11.   Any positions unfilled will be re-advertised and elected following the General Meeting late in January.  

If you are interested in being part of the team please send an email to waterloospacesociety@gmail.com . Please include your name, contact information, and top two positions of interest.

Elections will take place at the first executive meeting on January 11 at 6pm in E2 1306D.  



President

 - Convenes and coordinates meetings and members, leads club activities, spokesperson
 for the club, cosignatory (with Treasurerfor club finances, 

Vice President - Communication

 - Ensures the 
society is aware of SpaceSoc events via email communication, coordinates event advertising

Events Coordinator
 - Organizes speakers, facility tours, conference attendance, video nights, and more 

Membership Coordinator
 - Recruits new members, co-ordinates FEDS Clubs Day.

Treasurer
 - Coordinates funding reques
ts for the SpaceSoc, cosignatory for purchases (with President), record club's financial activities

Secretary
 - Takes notes at 
executive meetings and distributes in short order 

Webmaster
 - Updates SpaceSoc website with events and other important information. Design work also available.

Journalism Coordinator
  - Contributes articles to campus newspapers, Canadian 
Space Society Newsletter, and other written articles.  

Faculty (all) Reps 
 - Communicate events to your faculty via posters and word of mouth, aid in seeking funding. We need members in all faculties to spread 
space news.

Inter-Organizational Representative 
 - Communicates with Canadian 
Space Society, SEDS, Mars Society, and other university societies

International Year of Astronomy Star Grazing Party

Come and explore the night sky with telescopes provided by the Royal
Astronomical Society of Canada and University of Waterloo. Be here
with us to witness the Leonid Meteor Shower, the Andromeda Galaxy, and
catch a glimpse of Jupiter.

Light refreshments will be provided.
Bring your own chair and blankets if desired.

Fall 2009 General Meeting
