About Us

Some things we do on campus are:

    - Weekly Space Science and Space History movie nights

    - Guest speakers including many of Canada's astronauts, space researchers, and space entrepreneurs

    - Space debates and discussions

    - Run rocketry workshops where students design, build and fly their own model rockets
We also ran a rocketry competition for IEEE where first year students competed with their rockets

    - Run observing sessions every other weekend in Waterloo Park where people can stop by and see stars, nebula, Jupiter, Mars and other planets through our telescopes

    - Organize skydiving trips and SCUBA courses and training for our members

    - Offer aviation ground school (helping students get their pilots licence),

    - Attend space conferences including trips to Montreal and Boulder Colorado last year.

Some things we do on the side are:

    - Trips to see air shows and the Space Shuttle launch

    - Organize trips where some of our members experience Zero Gravity in a small aircraft with one of us flying on the "Vomit Comet" with the CSA

We organized a fund raising fun run called: The Great Space Race 2009 where members from our group and other clubs raised money for their clubs by running 5km, 10km, half marathon (21km), or 8km walk

Many of our members have undertaken the two week simulated Mars missions at the Mars Desert Research Station in the Utah desert, a multi million dollar joint NASA Mars Society project. See more information at the MDRS Crew 75 Website
