Where: The Swamp!

What: Teams of students will compete to build the most creative house out of cardboard to emphasize one of Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building and providing decent, affordable housing to low-income families around the world! Throughout the event, there will also be numerous opportunities to learn about poverty in St. Louis and around the world.
 

How to Form a Team

 

  • (1) Form a team – any group of friends that you would love to spend an afternoon with!
  • (2) Register! –  register online.
  • (3) Turn in your registration form and/or payment on Thursday 6:30-7:30p in Wohl or before the event during check-in.
  • (4) Get pumped for Saturday, March 28!


More Information:

  • Be Creative! This is your opportunity to build your dream house!
  • Registration fee. Don't let this stop you! Your registration fee ($7/person) includes: materials for your team (e.g. cardboard, duck tape, and utility knives), snacks, pizza, drinks, and a donation to our St. Louis affiliate - that's definitely at least a $7 value!
  • Have a picnic! Teams are welcome, even encouraged, to bring a blanket, and have fun picnic-style on the Swamp while building.
  • Judging and Prizes! Houses will be judged by members of the St. Louis Affiliate. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places as well as a party for the one freshman floor that builds the most creative cardboard house!

Schedule of March 29:

  • 11:30pm – 12:00pm: Check-in*
  • 12:00pm – 12:15pm: Kick-off
  • 12:15pm –2:15pm: Building & Lunch*
  • 2:15pm – 2:30pm: Judging and Closing Ceremony

*During these times, there will opportunities to learn about Habitat for Humanity as well as poverty around the world including St. Louis and what’s currently being done to fight it.
