ISR 2011

Objectives

UW HPS has an array of long-term and short-term goals that vary with each coming year. The most important final goal is produce a submarine to annually compete at the ISRs in Bethesda, MD. All other goals are designed to benefit the progress of this final goal.

Long Term Goals

  • Compete at ISR 2011 with newly developed systems
  • Design and manufacture new submarine hull
  • Establish continuing sponsorship support

Short Term Goals

  • Design sub systems for current hull
  • Manufacture and integrate all systems
  • Conduct various dry and wet testing
  • Develop working platform for electronics system
  • Organize experienced dive squad

Deliverables

By April, 2010, all systems will be completed and tested, and integrated to the current submarine hull, the Beluga.

By June, 2010, the refitted Beluga will be in the water and being tested for race conditions. All systems will be working in coordination.

By June 2010, a new submarine hull design and manufacturing plan will be completed, to begin manufacturing over the summer period.
