1978 In march I went to the "First Belgian Punk Contest" in the "Vieux Saint-Job", I was impressed by the set of Spermicide and got in touch with them after the gig. They were rehearsing in a squat where friends would hang out and have fun, so I rapidly involved other guys in forming a band.
I took the name "Phallus Band" from a school mate (Philippe Terseleer) who had named the bunch of iconoclasts we were "L'Armée du Phallus" and created a pseudo-jazz combo where I played trumpet in the very catholic St-Boniface institute (also attented by Dee J. of La Muerte and Kenny Gates of PIAS).
The first guy I asked to play was Dopmégot, I told him
-"hey you remind me of John Cleese of the Monty Python, you wanna form a band?".
I wanted to play guitar but I only new two chords and only had one song "I love me, I f**k you!", Dop new the same two chords PLUS the infamous "Barre chord" and two songs "Les Sadiques" and "Mickey qui Mousse", so, he got the frontman job! Anyway, I was the only one who could hold the basic rythm on drums for more than two minutes... There was an attempt to play with two basses, because we didn't want to chose between Mich'"Tekel" and Pat'"Tirette", but "Tirette" was trying harder to play with the other fingers than the thumb on the neck (no, not the slap technique), so he got the job not too long before we got our first gig:

With "90 decibel of shit" we had three songs! We played them twice and even had an encore! We got lots of funny and surrealist gigs, sharing the bill with Sttellla, the Mad Virgins, Spermicide and Contingent, I hope to get more archive and details in the future for this page.
