Annet Dekker is curator and researcher of media art exhibitions, discussions and workshops. Subjects of interest are the influence of new media, science and popular culture on art and vice versa. She has given various presentations at (inter)national symposia and was part of juries and advisory boards. For the past eight years she worked as curator / head of exhibition and managed the artist in residence program at the Netherlands Media Art Institute in Amsterdam. At the moment she is freelance curator and program manager at Virtual Platform. In September she starts her PhD research at Goldsmits College, Cultural Studies in London.
