Dear Friends ,
Please help us support IRAQ by participating in the "Walk for Iraq" fundraising event that will be held in Toronto on Saturday Aug 25th , 2007. This event is sponsored by the Canadian Red Cross and all net proceeds will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross in support of the response to Humanitarian Crisis in Iraq Appeal fund. The funds will be raised through the pledges and donations that will be collected by the participants in the walk from their families and friends . Our target is to raise $10,000 through the event.
With the current humanitarian crisis in Iraq , The "Walk for Iraq" is an opportunity for us to come together as a community and show our solidarity and sympathy with the Iraqis and their daily suffering.
The Walk for Iraq is a global initiative that was completed in London, UK, and is currently being organized in Auckland, NZ and California, USA. In the UK, more than 19,000 pounds were raised and the event was a huge success.
The event will take place on Saturday August 25th , 2007 at 5 PM along the walking trail that starts at 1 Yonge street in downtown Toronto.
