The Lake Burley Griffin Walking Carnival, known as the 'LBG', has been conducted by the ACT Race & Fitness Walking Club on behalf of the Australian Federation of Race Walking Clubs since 1967. Since then, it has grown to be Australia's premier race walking event. Races are held for all age groups over a range of distances. The blue riband event, the 20 mile race, has been won by many of Australia and New Zealand's top walkers including Willi Sawall, Dave Smith, Simon Baker, Nick Ahern, Craig Barrett. The 2010 event was won by Jared Tallent, Beijing Olympics silver (50 km) and bronze (20 km) medallist.
The 2012 LBG is on Sunday 10 June. An information sheet for the event and entry form are below.
