WAINFLEET FALL FAIR

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
On behalf of the Board of Directors, our committees and many volunteers I extend a greeting to each and everyone and welcome you to our 44th Fall Fair. For those who attended our “Corn Country”, celebration last year you we able to enjoy one of the most entertaining Fairs we have had. How do we top that?

Port Colborne residents continue to embrace the opportunity to participate in the fair
with such great enthusiasm as was evident by the increased number of entrants both young and old. The schools particularly were greatly involved in both the parade and the school tours. We are looking forward to even more participation from them this year.

We do our utmost to provide quality exhibits, worthwhile competitions and a forum
for learning, discovery and understanding, along with a friendly atmosphere for renewing or making new acquaintances. We firmly believe that we are helping to improve the quality of life in our community and throughout Ontario. This was very
evident with people coming back a second and third day just to catch all the events.

We are continually trying to add new and exciting events like last years Corn Eating
Contest, which will be back again. It all starts on Thursday night with the Antique Tractor pull then Friday night is the Modified Tractor and returning for Saturday will be the Demolition Derby which draws record crowds. Our new grounds layout makes for a much more intimate and enjoyable experience for all. You can start your Saturday off with our morning Pancake Breakfast served by our political representatives, there should be a lot of new faces flipping pancakes. We added more educational and entertainment events as well which the crowds thoroughly enjoyed and we will endeavour to have them return to us again. The staple events and exhibits that people have always enjoyed, like the Baby Show, Petting Zoo, and the numerous displays of canning, flowers, fruits and vegetables will be returning again bigger and better. The extremely popular Wainfleet Idol is back with 3 age groups 6-12, 13-18
and 19 plus. Now all those shower pop stars can come out and win CASH prizes.  We again will provide an event that is both educational and entertaining for all ages.

We want to thank all our advertisers and sponsors for their generous gifts and we urge
you to patronize them. We especially want to thank our “Partners in Progress” whose participation helps to make this fair possible and their continued support has helped make The Wainfleet Fall Fair one of the few growing fall events in the Niagara region.

Our theme for this year is, “Sunflowers”, “Watch Us Grow”. We do hope you can join
us this year at the Wainfleet Fall.

We shall see you all in September….. at the Wainfleet Fall Fair

David B. Wyatt, President.
