The Preston and District Volleyball League - founded in 1973 by local schoolteacher Joe Rainford- operates with 9 teams: six are school teams, so are closed to the general public, whilst three are open to new volleyballers - be they experienced, intermediate or novice players. Matches are played approximately every fortnight at Our Ladies High School, St Anthony's Drive, Fulwood, from October through to March.
