Some Eerie Facts Surrounding the Columbia Disaster I
recently stumbled across the fact that the latitude of
the Temple Mount in Jerusalem passes through Palestine, Texas. This
little town is famous as the location of the Columbia Disaster
that
killed seven astronauts, including the first
Israeli astronaut. The connection of the Israeli and the name of
"Palestine" was considered remarkable at the time. The Temple Mount
latitude (31.778) makes it something more. This lured me into a search that uncovered a network of connections between the United States, Palestine, the Temple Mount, and disaster. Are these just a freakish set of random coincidences? Or could they mean something? You can verify my first discovery using Google Maps by entering the latitude and longitude of Palestine Texas (31.778, -95.633). Then enter the location of the Temple Mount (31.778, 35.2353). Curiously, the Texas location is in the middle of a vacant area of Palestine, Texas, with a shape, size, and orientation similar to the Temple Mount compound. The Obama Meridian There are also connections with Barack Obama. Palestine, Texas got its name because prominent town resident John Parker once lived in Palestine, Illinois. The longitude of Obama's house in Chicago, 5046 South Greenwood Avenue (41.8027, -87.5995) passes through tiny Palestine, Illinois (39.0, -87.5995) 193 miles away, along 1875th Street. This rings a bell in Islamic brains because 1875 is the year that Egypt and the Ottoman Empire became bankrupt. They were unable to make the payments on their loans from international financiers. In that same year, the European Powers acted as armed debt collectors for the financiers, dictating policy and gradually bringing the last Islamic Caliphate under their control. If you zoom in close on the Obama house using Google Maps, you can also see the Jewish Temple directly across the street from Obama. It's octagon shape and domed top mimics the Dome of the Rock shrine atop the Temple Mount, in Israel. The District of Columbia Latitude From Wikimedia Commons PALESTINE, Illinois (38.995, -87.5995) is also on the latitude of the northern-most tip of the District of COLUMBIA (38.995, -77.041), perhaps foretelling Obama's ascent to the top or pinnacle of power. This latitude also passes through PALESTINE, West Virginia (38.995, -81.4075) and COLUMBIA, Missouri (38.995, -92.3098). Palestine, West Virginia is the location of Jessica Lynch's family home. The house sits next to little one-mile-long stream called Mayberry Run that passes through this latitude. It was only 50 days after the Columbia Disaster when Jessica Lynch was captured by Iraqi soldiers. According to her authorized biography, she was raped, although she does not remember it. She was rescued 9 days later by U.S. troops on April Fools Day. "West" and "Virginia " seemed to symbolize the virgin innocence and naive ignorance of people in America and the West who may be lost or sacrificed performing a dangerous mission they do not fully understand. And of course, the name "Mayberry" symbolizes innocence and naivety in the minds of Americans who have watched "Mayberry RFD". The original plan of the District of Columbia was a diamond shape. In 1846, the western corner of the diamond was given back to Virginia, but most of it can still be seen as county boundaries in VIRGINia. Again, we see the symbolism of virgin innocence in the west being lost or sacrificed. False Messiah The final trajectory of the doomed Columbia, as plotted by NASA, passes slightly north of Palestine, Texas. An observer there would have seen the disintegrating shuttle almost directly overhead, only eight degrees from vertical. It passed even closer to a 20-acre wooded lot (31.8815,-95.5996) east of town, where a religious commune had lived in the late 1980's. It's leader's voice echoed through those woods, proclaiming himself to be David Koresh, Messiah of the Jews. According to county records, he bought the lot in 1985, under his legal name of Vernon Howell. He later gained world fame by burning to death with his "Branch Davidians" near Waco, Texas. Koresh commanded his followers to encamp at Palestine until they were able to gain control of "Mount Carmel," a religious compound near Waco, Texas. The original Mount Carmel in Israel, with its numerous caves, was historically a refuge of criminals and anyone trying to hide from more powerful authorities. It overlooks the Valley of Jezreel. According to Bible prophecy, God will cause the nations of the earth to send their armies to meet their end in this valley during the climactic battle of Armageddon. If you install Google Earth on your computer, you can command it to draw the shortest line from one point to another across the globe. If you designate David Koresh's camp at Palestine, Texas (31.880764, -95.598478) as one point and Mt. Tabor (the Mount of Transfiguration) in the Jezreel Valley of Israel as an end point (32.688046, 35.390384), the computer will draw a line that passes through the city limits of tiny Palestine, Illinois near the intersection of the latitude of the top of Washington D.C. and the longitude of Obama's house in Chicago. The Russian Connection About 30 miles east of Palestine, Texas, the Temple Mount Latitude passes through the city limits of Rusk, Texas. The trajectory of the Columbia passes over the Temple Mount latitude about half-way between these two towns. "Rusk", "Ruski", "Rus", "Rusin", " Rusyn" are often the names used for a race of people scattered throughout Eastern Europe. Towns with names like Rusk Vola, Rusk Poruba, Rusk Hrabovec, Rusk Bystr, Rusk Potok, Rusk Volov, and Rusk Nov Ves are generally inhabited by the Rus people. Russia is named after the Rus and is full of them. The "Russia for Russians" movement advocates exclusive rights for the race, and some activists even want to expel non-Russian people from Russia. An important web site in this movement is www.Rusk.ru. Since the publication of the Scofield Reference Bible a hundred years ago, fundamentalist Christians have identified Russia as the future leader of the great "Gog Magog" invasion of Israel in the end times. So, the connection between Palestine, Russia and the Temple Mount rings a bell in many heads. Omen? When it was first reported that the Space Shuttle Columbia exploded over Palestine, Texas, killing the first Israeli astronaut and 6 Americans, it was taken by many as an omen. The omen seemed to say that America (often called "Columbia" in song and verse) would be destroyed by trouble in Palestine, in the Middle East.  Rabbi Gershon Salomon, leader of the Temple Mount Faithful, called it a "clear message from G-d," warning Israel and the US not to give away portions of the Promised Land, especially the Temple Mount. America was only 47 days from invading Iraq, and opponents of the war were warning of catastophe. In a Salon interview, Camille Paglia called the Columbia disaster "a stunning omen" that added to her "terrible sense of foreboding" about our impending invasion. The Columbia disaster seemed like an especially powerful omen because the Israeli astronaut, Colonel Ilan Ramon, had flown in the mission that bombed the Iraqi nuclear reactor project, a few miles southeast of Baghdad, in 1981. It was in the line of French reactors named "Osiris", the name of the Egyptian god of the dead. The French named the Iraqi reactor Osirak, combining the French spellings of "Osiris" and "Iraq". Voice from the Fire Then we learned that Colonel Ramon, had asked of his rabbi that Deuteronomy 4:33 be read to the congregation while he was in orbit. The passage reads: "Has any nation ever heard the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as you have, and yet lived?" This was read, according to his wishes, although nobody knows why he requested it. Was the voice of God speaking from the fire of Columbia's destruction? The fiery end of David Koresh, the ridiculous "Messiah of the Jews," and his Branch Davidians seems like another "voice from the fire" perhaps foretelling religious insanity on a larger scale and the destruction of deluded believers. The Waco Disaster inspired Timothy McVeigh and his wacky confederates to go to war against the U.S. government and is sometimes cited by Islamic extremists as a sign of our government's evil nature. If you use Google Earth to draw the shortest path from the Obama house (41.8027, -87.5995) to the Oklahoma City bombing site (35.4730868, -97.517051), the resulting path will pass through the city limits of Columbia Missouri, where the latitude of Palestine, Illinois also passes. What does it all mean, if anything? |
