My Daily "Live From the Road" Update Vlogs: | My Road Story: I love this road. California's Highway One, the Pacific Coast Highway. It's a road that goes through several places that I've lived, from Los Angeles to San Luis Obispo, to Santa Cruz, and it's a road that goes through what I consider to be one of the most beautiful spots on the planet; Big Sur. This trip was good for me. It was an incredible week with a really great group of guys, a week away from work and worries and stress. And it was a week to fall in love with my state again. No matter how screwed up our economy and our politics may be right now in California, the road reminds us of why we're here. We're broke and stumbling, but there's no where else I'd rather be than the California coast. And being here with good friends is all the more special. The trip started for me in March 2009, when Gary (anakin1814) was visiting the Bay Area and Mike (musoSF) and I (and several non-vlogger friends) went wine tasting in Sonoma. I mentioned to Gary what a great drive it is, to take Highway 1 from Southern to Northern California, and to watch the drama build as the cliffs grow on your journey north. I must have said something right, because he took me up the idea and before long we were making plans and figuring out who else to invite. The rest is history, and has been captured in the photos and videos on this page, as well as on the pages of my fellow travelers elsewhere on this site. Enjoy!
