About Vladimir
 
Vladimir Romanenkov was born in Germany of Russian parents who fled Russia during the Russian revolution. He started playing the piano at the age of six, gave his first concert at eight, played as soloist with youth orchestras, and excelled in several youth competitions. He studied piano, voice and composition at the Staatliche Hochschule fur Musik in Berlin, and finished his piano studies at the Staatliche Hochschule fur Musik in Cologne, Germany with a Masters in Piano Performance. He participated successfully at the first Chopin Competition in Hannover, Germany and was invited to the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw, Poland.

 

He moved to Stockholm, Sweden where he directed his own piano school and later after a well received concert in New York, moved to the United States and settled in San Francisco.

 

He was a soloist and accompanist with the Massenkoff Russian Folk Festival in their concert tours all over the United States and TV guest appearances, has given solo concerts including a concert of his own piano compositions and improvisations notably at the Herbst Theatre in San Francisco and coached and accompanied many opera singers. He also gave his services as pianist and organist for a number of churches.
