Huamn rights through The Murals in Chicano Park
Murals represent the struggle of human rights as well as the strive for progression in many cultures. Murals ar not only art but they educate and they cultivate human rights. Murals signify the power of people and culture. Chicano park is a 7.9 acre park located beneth the San diego-Cordonado Brige in Logan heights. Chicano Park has 67 insipring murals, as well as sculptures and other artistic earthworks. Chicano park is known for it's strive to empower the mind and soul through it's murals. Established by Chicano activists on April 22, 1970, Chicano Park has received international acclaim as a major outdoor public art site for its commanding mural paintings of the past and present struggle of Mexican and Chicano history. Murals are large paintings or photograpgy on walls. These murals not only let you see art but they let you acknowledge the truth behind human rights. Human rights are the basic rights and freedoms to which all humans are entitled, often held to include the right to life and liberty, freedom of thought and expression, and equality before the law.

The murals in Chicano park have been considerably insipiring to the community of barrio logan. Not only did activist fight to make this park but they put thier own struggle in many of the paintings. To this very day people still call chicano park the heart of barrio logan. Chicano park has made a home for many Mexican americans and mexican imagrants theirs.
