 Vivian Black, is a multifaceted artist: actress of the horror genre, female Metal solo singer, creator of black metal performances, composer, screenwriter, writer, artistic producer and director. A talented woman, whose potential has not been recognized by show business, nor by most of the public of her native country. She was part of the band called "Mandrágora" as vocalist, and she left it because she had a lot of differences of opinions with the musicians, becoming in this way a solo artist. Vivian was an unprecedented case in the 90's. With her hard and firm character she had to impose herself as an artist and a leader. In this way, she opened, at last, a brand new road in metal music tradition; she did something that another woman never dared to do: become a leader, and a feminine solo performer in that genre, which was purely masculine until that moment. Vivian's proposal was, initially, a little difficult to accept. Merging her acting face, of course, always with the inclination to terror, mixed with music.
The performance created on stage was as much theatrical as musical. It was like watching a film of the "Hammer Films" live, to the rhythm of metal. Her versatility to transform from a naive girl into an abomination from darkness is absolutely amazing, bearing in mind she is not a professional actress. In her first video, "Slaves of lust”, she embodies an ancient entity, which inhabits in a crypt of a cemetery. The evil spirit decides to leave his home to possess a body, which soul should be pure, free of sins, with the aim of corrupting it until total degradation, and so lead it to death, using lust as diabolical instrument for its purpose. Having three videos, and a couple of new songs recently recorded in a much more professional way than the previous ones -with better sound quality-, Vivian, in 1997, decided to make her supreme work; "Hellrising Crown", with a very catchy and commercial melody. It was televised, not only in the local channels, but also in MTV Latin America. It is noteworthy that Vivian, before editing her first album, has had a large number of people attending her concerts in the city Buenos Aires and throughout the rest of the country. The popularity achieved by this album exceeded the expectations of other musicians, even surprising the singer herself. The album is named after Vivian Black, THE PRINCESS OF DARKNESS "AGAINST THE PARADISE" surpassing herself widely as a composer and vocal interpreter. It has ten songs in total, eight of which were recorded at the studios, one recorded live, and a bonus track, instrumental keyboard in dark style, as item number 66, as a tribute to her dark philosophy, entitled "Rex deus Morituri" ( “The king god will die”, in ancient roman language). A talented woman, with a rising and promising future, who was discriminated to a point where she decided to put a temporary end to her career. She wishes with all of her heart that the situation changes someday, to be able to start again. Vivian Black craves another chance, a new horizon, somewhere many miles away from Buenos Aires to participate in any horror movie, or perhaps to make a new album. But this time around, if the chance arises, she will make sure that the people who are fans of her art, if they want to follow her, have the following concept clear in mind: "The world of fiction ends where reality begins."
