Since its inception in September 2008, Vive Cafe has grown from serving 30 meals a week to between 80-100 meals each Thursday.  Our approach differs greatly from the traditional notion of a soup kitchen.  At Vive Cafe guests are greeted at the door by a friendly volunteer and seated at a set table complete with table cloth and tea light candle.  Guests can then expect to enjoy a two to three course meal served to them by a team of volunteer waiters.  On top of the goal that no guest should go away hungry Vive Cafe also strives to entertain guests with an array of musical entertainment including, live music and DJs playing everyone’s favourite tunes.  Volunteers are also on hand to entertain children and others to assist guest in finding clothes from our mini Vive Shop.

Vive Cafe is about much more than providing a meal.  At Vive we strive to provide not only a home-cooked meal, but most importantly a listening ear.  This listening ear is probably the most valued and essential service we can offer our guests.  With many volunteers that come each week, guest are able to build strong and meaningful relationships!
