St. Anthony of Padua - Buffalo Hall of Fame

The Hall of Fame features Saints honored at St. Anthony's.

St. Rosalie / Santa Rosalia

St. Rosalie
Saint Rosalie (feast day: Sept. 4) lived in 11th century as a hermit on Mt. Pellegrino, near Palermo, in the island of Sicily.  She is represented as a noble woman, her head crowned with roses, symbol of eternal glory. The skull is symbol of human fragility and of penance. The Bible is symbol of meditation and the Cross represents the power of prayer. The two shells on her mantle are symbol of her protection toward fishermen and of the city of Palermo, a major seaport in the Mediterranean.
A “Congrega Santa Rosalia” was established at St. Anthony’s on May 7, 1905.
