I am a AXA Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Government, University of Essex. I have a PhD and an MSc in Economics from Birkbeck College, University of London, and a Laurea in Politics from the University of Florence. In my pre-academic life I served as an officer in the Italian Navy, principally working in anti-submarine warfare.
