Avard is located in NW Oklahoma in Woods County. Avard is situated between Alva & Waynoka. Other attractions close by is the Little Sahara State Park south of Waynoka and Great Salt Plains Lake and Refuge east of Cherokee. Just to the west of Avard is Freedom which is home to the Alabaster State Caverns. Tour the cavern to see all the formations and bats. There is plenty to do and see in NW Okla. Avard itself is little more than a ghosttown but is certainly worth getting off the beaten path for.  There is also a 6 unit RV area that is located just across the street from the gym.
