Events & Education

The following educational programs are free and are being offered (Sep - Apr) at the Health and Education Center, 3333 Squalicum Parkway, Bellingham (next to St Joseph Cancer Center).  Children are welcome to attend with adults as long as they do not distract the group's learning.  Bring food to snack on if you like at these evening gatherings - you'll be seated at tables.  Village Vida Centre Resource Lists will be available and time left over to network.

Village Vida Centre Programs & Services include charitable educational programming such as: inclusive learning opportunities for groups and individuals; outreach activities that cultivate relationships and educate the community at large about VVC's mission, and how people of Whatcom County can address social justice issues relevant to LGBT civil rights and specific needs; and recreational events that invite social networking opportunities for LGBT individuals. Currently without a designated structure for VVC, we are utilizing free spaces in Bellingham to gather and provide programs that help improve LGBT health and enhance quality of life. Educational Programs Offered – Titles & Descriptions

The frequency and time, of which VVC offers some of the educational programs listed above are limited, based on the availability of donated spaces in the community. Are you feeling the passion?!  Why not post THE HUMAN RACE fundraiser on your Facebook & Facebook event calendar....?

THE HUMAN RACE is early this year - Saturday May 14, 2001.  Support Village Vida Centre by particpating in the race and wearing your free T-Shirt Proudly!
You can also make a Donation to the Whatcom Volunteer Center  in our name (Village Vida Centre) and 75% of your donations will go to VVC's programs and towards getting our own LGBTA space.
Start now in fundraising! You do not need to participate (walk, run, or roll) in the race in order to raise money - just get a donation form and ask for donations - it would be fabulous if you set for yourself  a goal of at least $1,000 in donations - this will help out a lot to set money aside for our community center.  For much more information on the HUMAN RACE go to:

Village Vida Centre - An LGBT Community Resource Center, is in need of a community space to call our own that will be the center of events, programs & services, resources, allied organizations, and community leaders/activists. We need your support, in order to successfully provide our current and proposed programs and services.  VVC vision is that all gay, lesbian, transgender, gender variant, bisexual people and allies (LGBT) residing, working or visiting in Whatcom County have available to them a safe, secure, supportive, and visible community resource center that provides educational, recreational, and social networking opportunities and programs that promote growth, improve quality of life, and that increase this population’s potential to contribute to the local economy – “to level the playing field”.
