Village Playwrights
New York's Gay Playwrights Collective
Reading of Jacob Storms' play on Feb. 8.
All writers, directors and actors are welcome to join the Village Playwrights at 8 PM on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month at the LGBT Community Center, 208 West 13th Street, New York City. The purpose of the Village Playwrights is to serve the writer. Writers of all levels are encouraged to participate.
At these meetings, the Village Playwrights provide writers the opportunity to have their works read by actors followed by critiques. Playwrights, screenwriters and all writers working in the Performance Arts are invited to attend. Help is available for casting and directing plays. In order to submit a work for a reading, it is requested that the author have attended at least two general meetings.
The Village Productions, a division of the Village Playwrights, affords playwrights the opportunity to self produce plays that have been workshopped at our regular meetings at an economical cost. In the past our productions have taken place at the WINGS Theater and LGBT Community Center.
In order to pay for the room at the LGBT Community Center a contribution of $3.00 is suggested.
