The center of community in Vermont towns has always been the village green.  It is where people come together to relax, engage, and share in the pleasures of being together.  It is in this spirit that that the Village Green Rhythm Collective was created in 1992.  VGRC was founded (a) to serve as a nucleus for events--such as workshops, classes, and drum circles--facilitated by its founders, and (b) to support and promote the entire rhythm community in the Greater Vermont region.

About the founders.--V. Josselyne Price, M.A., is a percussionist and ethnomusicologist, specializing in ritual and rhythm of West Africa and North America. Additionally, she works as a studio percussionist and vocalist in many recording projects throughout the United States. She currently lives in Weybridge, VT, and is on the faculty in the Fine Arts Department at St. Michael's College in Colchester, VT, where she teaches Ghanaian drumming and courses in World Music. Josselyne serves in advisory/facilitator roles for many other national and local-level drum and dance based events.

Steve Trombulak is a conservation biologist and environmental educator who has for several years explored the connections between community and humanity's relationship with the natural world. He has lived in the Middlebury, VT, area since 1985, and has presented and played numerous support roles at drum and dance festivals around the U.S. for almost fifteen years.
