The View Royal Fastball Association has many community partners that promote the sport of Fastpitch and work at making our ballpark the best in the city.
Town of View Royal
The park maintenance such as maintaining the grass and infields, installing field improvements and conducting repairs is provided by the Town of View Royal. They have been supportive of improving our ballpark and making it the best in the city by providing funding and partnering with our association. VRFA has promoted the Town of View Royal by hosting at least four major tournaments every year.
Victoria Fastball Club
We have a good partnership with the Victoria Fastball Club which has the Devils 'A' program. With at least one Devil's team playing in our park each year the View Royal players are able to see first hand where they can get to with their ball skills should they want. The Devils have benefited from the program at View Royal by acquiring several players across all divisions over the years. VR and the Devils cooperate in the operation of FallBall at View Royal, which is a major revenue generator for our park. The Devils have also provided the opportunity for coaches and players to attend clinics in past years. With the Peewee 'A' and Bantam 'A' Nationals being hosted at our park in 2010, View Royal also benefits from infrastructure improvements and improved concession revenues that will fund ongoing programs and park operations in the years to come.
Frank Bell Memorial Slopitch
Long time View Royal resident and one of the founders of View Royal Fastball, Pete Bishop continues to play ball. Through the connection to Pete, View Royal Fastball has worked with the organizers of the Frank Bell Memorial Slopitch tournament in past years and have allowed them the use of our fields. In return they have provided financial assistance to the park to continue to fund field improvements.
Victoria Women's Fastball League
Long time View Royal coach Ken Logue has continued his coaching up into the senior ranks. Through the connection with Ken View Royal Fastball hosts league games on two diamonds every Monday night during the season. It is terrific for our young players to be able to see that they can continue to play softball for many years after their minor career is over.
