1. What does the Viet-Sun Foundation do?
We provide education to poor Vietnamese village children through academic scholarships.
2. How much does it cost to send one child to school for a year?
As little as $20 to as high as $50 dollars can send a Vietnamese student to school for a full year.
3. How do you select scholarship recipients?
Throughout the year, we collect scholarship applications from Vietnamese children. If selected as a scholarship recipient, funds will be sent directly to the student. Funds are allocated to these students based on financial need, academic merit, and their family situation.
4. How do you verify these students?
Our Student Representative, Kim Chi Do, joined our team in 2008. She is a native Vietnamese college graduate and business owner, but spends much of her time aiding and volunteering in charitable activities. Kim Chi Do visits each and every one of our scholarship applicants to verify their application and background. She reports back to us with verification of students' applications. She communicates with us frequently, providing us updates of the students of the many villages she visits.
5. Do our donation dollars go directly to the children?
Yes, funds go DIRECTLY to the scholarship recipients after their applications have been accepted. In order to avoid controversial intermediaries, funds are sent directly to our Student Representative to be distributed directly to the scholarship recipients.
6. Can I "write-off" my donation to the Viet-Sun Foundation?
