What is Grad Nite all about?Vaca High Grad Nite 2011... Vegas Baby, Let The Good Times Roll
Graduating high school seniors at Vacaville High School get to party all night in a safe and sober environment thanks to a group of caring parents.
The Vaca High Sober Grad Nite is part of a nation -wide effort where parents, schools and the community come together to offer an all night, drug and alcohol free graduation party for seniors. It’s a way of showing our love for our graduating seniors by celebrating their great accomplishment and helping to prevent drug and alcohol related deaths on Grad Night. The concerned Vaca High parents of students in each grade, not just seniors, put on a lavishly decorated night of fun, food and music. This year’s theme will be “Vegas Baby... Let The Good times Roll”. Each attending senior will get a commemorative theme tee shirt. There will be Carnival Games and a Casino area where the seniors can play games of chance to win Bulldog Bucks used to bid on donated prize baskets at the end of the night. An inflated Obstacle Course, Bungee Run, and Radical Slide are just a few of the types of interactive games that will be available. Of course there will be music, lots of great food and even artists painting Henna Tattoos. Just after midnight the ever popular hypnotist will make everyone laugh by having senior volunteers do fun and crazy things. The whole event is paid for by several Grad Nite Committee fund raisers that start early in the school year. The Grad Nite Committee has already held several fund raisers. Seniors will started out selling Holiday Raffle tickets in December. The winning ticket wins a $500 shopping spree at the Westfield Mall. We will once again hold a fantastic Crab Dinner where the community can come together to have a good time with great food to support this Grad Nite party. Our annual Sober Grad Nite Golf Tournament is always a big event. New fundraising events are in the works all the time so check this web site under Fundraisers often for updates. Every year local businesses and the local media support this very important event with donations of cash, food, prizes and advertising. The Vaca High Sober Grad Nite Committee is always in need of donations and the committee can always use more parent volunteers. If you would like to help out in any way contact Wendy Brown at 365-3520 or check out How You Can Help. Everyone involved wants to make this all night party for our graduating seniors the gift of a lifetime. |
